Our Services
Dominican Bus is a collaborative partnership of thirteen non-profit community support service agencies that provide transportation services to people 55 and older and adults with disabilities who are not eligible for Wheel-Trans.
Transportation services are provided Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

When one agency is unable to fulfill a travel request, the request is forwarded to all other Dominican Bus partner agencies.
In this way, Dominican Bus facilitates the sharing of transportation resources to better meet the needs of our customers.

Due to increasing demand and limited resources, Toronto Ride may not yet be able to meet all transportation requests.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Dominican Bus offers door-to-door assisted transportation for persons 55 years of age and older and adults with disabilities who are not eligible for Wheel-Trans.
Customers must:
Reside within the boundaries of our partner agencies;
Be able to enter and exit our vehicles with limited assistance;
Have walkers and folding wheelchairs, if needed.

WHERE CAN YOU GO?
Transportation is provided within the territory of the Dominican Republic.

You can schedule a ride to and from:
Medical appointments;
Therapy appointments;
Rehabilitation programs;
Adult day programs;
Partner agency programs;
Supermarkets, banks, hair salons, the mall, etc.;
Social outings to visit friends.

Medical appointments have priority when scheduling travel.

HOW MUCH DOES TRAVEL COST?
The cost of the trip is determined by the distance traveled.
Transfers may be available, if required, within available locations.

Here is our fare schedule (one way trips):
0 to 5 km = $ 6.60
5.1 to 10 km = $ 10.50
10.1 to 15 km = $ 15.25
15.1 to 20 km = $ 18.75
20.1 to 25 km = $ 23.00
25+ km = $ 1.10 per km

If a client needs an escort for a trip, an escort may join the client at no charge.
Additional escorts are charged at the same rate as the client.

Give as much advance notice as possible.
Any trip cancelled with less than 24 hours notice is subject to a cancellation fee, the price of a one-way fare.
